H. E. Anne-Marie IDRAC, French Minister For Foreign Trade Visits Bharat Forge Limited

Bharat Forge Ltd., the flagship company of the USD 2.4 billion Kalyani Group and a leading global supplier of forged and machined components, was today privileged to receive H.E. Mrs Anne - Marie IDRAC , French Minister for Foreign Trade as an esteemed guest at its Mundhwa Plant in Pune.

H.E. Mrs Anne - Marie IDRAC is visiting India to attend the Delhi Sustainable Development Summit (DSDS) organised by The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI). She has come with an important delegation of French companies including both Multinationals and Small and Medium Enterprises providing equipments and solutions in the field of r enewable energies and sustainable development which is one of the key priorities of the Indo - French Strategic Partnership.

India and France share several common values and have successfully leveraged each other's strengths across various industry sectors.

Bharat Forge over the years has shared several business relationships with French companies and has very recently forged two new partnerships - Joint - Venture (JV) with Alstom in November 2008, for manufacturing supercritical turbine island power plant equipment, and a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Areva in January 2009, to produce heavy forgings and components for Nuclear reactors.

These initiatives are a step towards further strengthening its strategy in the Non - automotive business, especi ally in the energy sector. Bharat Forge and the two French Companies share a common view in working towards sustainable development and believe in giving access of energy to all citizens of India, while simultaneously contributing to worldwide collective efforts against global warming. They also intend to contribute to the larger objective of making India the Hub for Power plant equipment manufacturing.

H.E. Anne - Marie IDRAC was also accompanied by H.E. Mr Jérôme Bonnafont, Ambassador of France in India, Mr Nicolas Forissier, Member of Parliament from Indre et Loire, Mme Claude Greff, Member of Parliament along with other eminent personalities from the French Parliament, Embassy and the French Media. The representatives of both Alstom and Areva were also present at the occasion.
