Bharat Forge's Chairman Mr. Babasaheb N. Kalyani set up the vision to develop 100 villages under our Village Development Programme, making it one of our most crucial missions.
Our Village development projects were initiated in the year 2015, under which we have been dedicatedly working towards improving the quality of life in the rural communities of Maharashtra.
Each Indian village differs from the other in their geographies, histories and ecologies mind-sets, traditions and social practices. Since those keep varying, we at Bharat Forge analysed the requirements in each village individually, and structured our village development Programmes to meet them exclusively.
Water for both drinking and agriculture was taken to be a prime indicator for village development in addition to the development works for internal roads, livelihood creation, health and education.
As part of our CSR activities, we decided to participate in the Government's Jalyukta Shivir Abhiyan in villages of Maharashtra, under the guidance and mentorship of our Chairman Mr. Babasaheb N. Kalyani. Water harvesting projects were launched in the adopted villages as a part of this initiative.
The standard of living of the villagers was elevated multi-fold through water abundance, better roads, richer farms and a better livelihood.
Our focus on inclusive growth has led us to work extensively for enhancing the availability of agricultural water in villages and making safe drinking water accessible. This has led to a constant rise in income through farming, thus improving the living standards of the people.
Bharat Forge provides water at doorstep to the villagers by constructing water tanks, so that they no longer need to walk 2-3 miles for collecting drinkable water.
Enhancing the livelihood of people from the rural regions we serve has been one of our core objectives in the CSR activities undertaken.
Since the inception of our CSR initiatives, we have always had a keen focus on the health of women, be it the community women or the women in the rural areas. Our initiatives in Cancer Screening and other diseases have continually led to better diagnosis and motivated precautionary behaviour.
We believe education is the most important step towards a bright future. For this, we have taken up many initiatives to renovate, repair and build the Zilla Parishad Schools in different villages.
Bharat Forge has always had accessibility as a key indicator in village development. With better roads, we have witnessed better employability, education, rise in crop yields and an exponential increase in the income levels of villagers.
We address the need of basic infrastructure and toilets in different villages through discussion with community leaders, villagers and our experienced engineers.
We keep training leaders and influencers to be better aligned towards the development of the villages they serve.
