The French government has bestowed the award of Knight of the National Order of the Legion of Honour (Chevalier de l’Ordre de la Légion d’Honneur) on Baba Kalyani, Chairman & Managing Director, Bharat Forge Limited. The Ambassador of France to India, Mr Jérôme Bonnafont, conferred the distinction on Mr Baba Kalyani during an award ceremony held at his residence in New Delhi, on 12th
May 2011.

Baba Kalyani received this award in recognition of his remarkable career as a businessman and his important contribution to enhance the relations between France and India in the economic and commercial fields.

The “Légion d’Honneur” (Legion of Honour) is the highest distinction that can be conferred by the French Republic on a French Citizen as well as on a foreigner. The Order of the Legion of Honour was instituted in 1802 by Napoléon Bonaparte.
